The University recognises that its continuing success is dependent to a great extent on the individual performance of each member of its staff, and this is often related to the health and general well-being of the individual.

Health and Wellbeing

Good health depends on a combination of both physical and mental well-being and therefore it seeks to maintain a healthy and safe working environment by setting policies and procedures that are designed to support the health and well-being of all its employees. The University is committed to encouraging staff and students to live healthier lifestyles.

We continue to be committed to the University Mental Health Charter. We have scoped out the activities that support mental health. We continue to offer staff development and direct support for individuals to enhance their well-being. We have identified an increase in colleagues sharing their neurodivergent conditions, and we're developing ways to respond to this.   For students, we have established with the Students' Union . Open seven days a week, 7.00 am to 10 pm, this self-access space is calm and relaxing, with a range of free resources including free fairtrade hot drinks, sewing machines, crafting and art materials.
